Cindy laughs first and asks questions later, and it suits her. She has long blonde hair that falls in loose waves, clear blue eyes and a slim, supple frame kept that way by a regular yoga practice, all 168 cm of it carried with a relaxed, sunlit charm. Her style leans toward the easy end of glamour: a silk slip dress in a pale shade, bare shoulders under a light coat, hair left to do as it pleases. She looks like the best part of a summer holiday that somehow followed you home to London.
Her friends describe her as easygoing, and from them there is no warmer compliment. Cindy is cheerful without being loud, sporty without turning everything into a contest, and quick to put a nervous first-timer at ease. Her English is fluent and bright. Not as often as I would like. The Thames is busy, so most of my sailing happens on holiday and the rest happens in conversation.
