Meet Liana

  • French novels, pilates and gardening
  • Slim and graceful, 167 cm
  • Soft brown eyes, long straight chestnut hair
  • In her late twenties, speaks fluent English
  • Marylebone, W1

Some women fill a room; Liana quietly tends it. She is 167 cm and slim, with long straight chestnut hair, soft brown eyes and the lengthened, graceful posture of a steady pilates habit. Her style is classic and romantic: a wrap dress in deep red, a fine cashmere cardigan resting on her shoulders, pearl studs, perhaps a silk scarf knotted at the wrist. Nothing about her is loud, and every detail looks chosen with care, like a well-kept garden in late spring.

Gentle is the first thing people feel with her, intuitive the second. Liana has a gift for reading the mood of an evening, sensing when a pause wants words and when it is better left alone, and her fluent English is soft, articulate and never hurried. She reads French novels in translation, slowly, underlining the sentences she wants to keep, and will happily discuss Colette over a glass of white. Weekends find her kneeling beside a raised bed, trowel in hand, coaxing sweet peas up a cane.

Marylebone suits her perfectly, a village tucked just above Oxford Street. Her favourite early evening begins among the oak shelves and long skylit gallery of Daunt Books on Marylebone High Street, where she chooses a novel for you, followed by a slow supper nearby and a walk past the lit windows of Chiltern Street. If you are staying at The Langham, she may suggest a last drink downstairs before you head up, the traffic of Portland Place reduced to a gentle murmur.

Liana is based in Marylebone, a short ride from Mayfair. Look over the rates page, then send one quiet message to booking.

An evening with Liana

Liana's ideal evening is gentle and gradual, like light changing over a garden. It begins with tea or a glass of white somewhere quiet, a window table where she can watch the street and ask about the book you are reading, or the one you keep meaning to start. She listens properly, and she notices when a long day is still sitting on your shoulders.

Dinner is unhurried, perhaps a small bistro on a side street, candles, a shared plate of cheese at the end. On the walk back she names the plants in the window boxes and confesses which ones she has failed to keep alive. At the hotel she slips off her shoes, reads you her favourite page from whatever she is carrying, and lets the night unfold softly.

Asked and answered

Something short and French, so you can finish it on the flight home. I will write the title on the hotel notepad for you.

Patience, mostly. After that, sweet peas and rosemary, which forgive almost anything. The foxes dig up everything else.

Pilates in the morning, a long bath in the evening, and a conversation where nobody is trying to impress anybody.
